
Security Engineer
Description:
The Security Engineer will be responsible for keeping abreast of state of the art secure networking technologies and commercial products. He/she will build and test prototype secure networking solutions, using government purchased test equipment and test configurations, in government provided laboratory space. The Security Engineer will coordinate activities with other Government information infrastructure organizations (supporting elements including, but not limited to, CWE1/CWE2, Smart Card, Thin Client, and Sensitive Data servers).

The Security Engineer must have thorough understanding of Information Assurance principals. Working knowledge in multiple Information Assurance technical areas is required. The ability to manage IA related projects or work individually as a consultant to support IA initiatives is expected. This individual must have a solid understanding of project lifecycle and how security activities are incorporated in that lifecycle. The Engineer must have the ability to design, develop and implement components of IA organizations. A strong background in InfoSec skills including network defenses (firewalls, IDS, antivirus), access controls, auditing, and data protection is also necessary.
Additional Requirements include:
Desirable: CISSP or other certifications
Clearance: Full TS/SCI with Lifestyle Polygraph required
